R&D Lab Design / VR AR XR / Real-Time and Virtual Production / AI and Machine Learning

RLab was the first publicly funded XR center in the United States — a city-backed initiative to make immersive technology accessible to New York’s creative and entrepreneurial communities. Located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the center provided production facilities, education programs, and corporate innovation partnerships.

I managed the complete technology infrastructure, collaborated with architects and general contractors to design the physical spaces, and led R&D bringing real-time rendering and volumetric filmmaking technologies into practice. I also developed and taught workshops on motion capture, VR/AR, and human-centered design, and curated industry events focused on virtual production.

The center became a model for how cities can invest in emerging technology infrastructure to support creative industries. Featured on Voices of VR and covered extensively in industry press.
