Giant
Giant places the viewer inside a bomb shelter with a family during an air raid — an intimate, emotionally devastating VR experience directed by Milica Zec. Built in Unreal Engine with volumetric capture, the project was one of the first to prove that real-time game engine technology could deliver cinematic emotional storytelling in virtual reality.
As VR Technical Director and Installation Engineer, I built and maintained the technical installation across a two-year international tour spanning Sundance New Frontier, Cannes Film Festival, GDC, NAB, SIGGRAPH, New York Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, and over 20 additional venues.
Giant became a landmark in the first wave of narrative VR and was covered by NVIDIA, Unreal Engine, and Digital Media World. The project demonstrated that real-time rendering was ready for serious filmmaking.
