Fistful of Stars / Hubble Cantata
Hubble Cantata merged a live orchestral performance with a virtual reality experience inspired by images from the Hubble Space Telescope. Audiences wore VR headsets during portions of the live concert, creating a hybrid format that moved between physical and virtual space.
I served as Technical Director, engineering the synchronization between the live performance and the VR experience across 5,000 simultaneous headsets, a world record at the time.
Premiered at Celebrate Brooklyn and traveled to the Kennedy Center for the JFK Centennial. One of the earliest large-audience synchronized VR concert experiences.
